Deposits and withdrawals: how the money moves

Which payment methods you can use, how long each step usually takes, why your name must match, what slows things down and how to spot a payment scam.

Money questions make up a large share of the messages Sky Exchange receives, and most of them have simple answers once you know how the process works. Unlike a bank app, deposits and withdrawals on a betting ID are handled by people who match each payment to your account. That brings a personal touch, but it also means the right details at the right time make everything faster. This guide is for adult users aged 18 and above. Please also check your state's rules first, as some Indian states ban online betting.

Payment methods

Most users pay with whatever they already use for everyday payments:

  • UPI apps — PhonePe, Google Pay (GPay), Paytm, BHIM and the UPI section of most banking apps. Usually the quickest option.
  • Paytm wallet or Paytm UPI, depending on what the team currently accepts.
  • Bank transfer through IMPS, NEFT or RTGS. Useful for larger amounts, though NEFT can take longer outside banking hours.

The accepted methods, minimum and maximum amounts and any charges are set by the team and can change from week to week. Rather than relying on a figure you saw somewhere online, ask in the chat for the current limits before each payment.

MethodUsual deposit timeGood to know
UPI (PhonePe, GPay, Paytm, BHIM)A few minutes to around 30 minutesKeep the UTR number from the receipt
IMPSA few minutes to around an hourWorks at night and on holidays
NEFT / RTGSUp to a few hoursSlower outside bank processing windows

Times above are ranges, not promises. Busy match days, bank outages and mismatched details can all add to them.

Making a deposit

  1. Ask for payment details in your chat. The UPI ID or bank account you pay to can change, so request it fresh each time rather than reusing an old screenshot.
  2. Pay from an account in your own name. This keeps your record clean and makes later withdrawals straightforward.
  3. Send the proof. Share the payment screenshot along with the UTR or reference number. The UTR is a 12-digit number on most UPI receipts and is what the team uses to locate your payment.
  4. Wait for confirmation. Once matched, the amount appears in your balance and the team confirms in the chat.

If you do not have an ID yet, the full first-time process — including your first deposit — is on the Sky Exchange ID page.

Requesting a withdrawal

To take money out, request a withdrawal through the account or message the team, depending on how your ID is set up. Share the bank account or UPI ID you want paid into. Before the first payout, the team may ask you to confirm the account holder's name.

The name-match rule. Payouts go only to an account whose holder name matches the name on your ID. This protects you: if someone gets hold of your login, they cannot simply send your balance to their own account. Requests to pay a brother's, friend's or shop's account are refused, even if the reason sounds genuine.

How long does it take? Anything from a few minutes to several hours is normal depending on the amount, the time of day and how busy the team is. Large amounts, first-time withdrawals and requests made late at night can take longer. If a payout seems slow, ask for an update in the chat rather than submitting the request again — duplicate requests make tracking harder.

Winnings that you withdraw may be relevant for tax purposes. Indian tax rules on winnings from online games are strict, so speak to a tax professional if you are unsure what applies to you.

Why payments get delayed

Almost every delay we see comes from one of these:

  • Missing or wrong UTR. A screenshot without a readable reference number is hard to match. Crop carefully or type the number out.
  • Paying old details. Money sent to a UPI ID that is no longer in use has to be traced, which takes time.
  • Name mismatch. A deposit from someone else's account, or a withdrawal to one, needs extra checks or is refused.
  • Bank or UPI downtime. NPCI and individual banks have outages, especially at month end and late at night. Payments marked "pending" in your app usually resolve on their own.
  • Peak hours. Just before a big IPL match, many deposits arrive at once.
  • Open bets. Money tied up in unsettled bets cannot be withdrawn until those bets are settled.

Scam warnings

Fraudsters target betting users because they know payments happen over chat. Protect yourself with these rules:

  • Never pay anyone who contacts you first. Sky Exchange does not message strangers asking for deposits, and nobody needs to "unlock" your withdrawal with a fee.
  • Ignore "processing charges" for payouts. If a person says your winnings are stuck until you pay a tax, fine or verification fee, stop and check on the number you originally used.
  • Do not share OTPs, UPI PINs or screen-sharing access. Receiving money never requires your PIN. Approving a "collect request" sends money out of your account.
  • Be wary of guaranteed-profit offers. Fixed matches, sure-shot tips and "double your money" schemes are scams, without exception.
  • Check the number every time. Copycat profiles use the same name and picture. Save the genuine number in your contacts.

Deposit only money you can afford to lose. If you find yourself depositing repeatedly to recover losses, that is a sign to stop; the responsible gaming page has help options, and the team can pause your ID on request. For more quick answers, see the FAQ.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum deposit or withdrawal?

Minimums and maximums are set by the team and can change, so ask on WhatsApp for the current limits before you pay.

Can I withdraw to a different account than the one I deposited from?

You can usually withdraw to any bank or UPI account held in your own name. Accounts belonging to friends, relatives or businesses are not accepted.

My deposit has not shown up. What should I do?

Send the payment screenshot and the 12-digit UTR number in the same chat where you got the payment details. Most delays are cleared once the team can match the reference. Do not pay a second time while the first is pending.

Are there any charges on deposits or withdrawals?

Ask the team about current charges before you pay. Your own bank or UPI app may apply its own limits on daily transfers, which are separate from anything on the ID.
